ROBERT CROTTY & LOREN CONNORS による『Robert Crotty With Me: Loren’s Collection (1979-1987)』。『Robert Crotty With Me: Loren’s Collection (1979-1987)』は、ROBERT CROTTY と LOREN CONNORS の数少ないセッションを収録した貴重なアルバムです。 LOREN CONNORS が選曲しました。古い靴箱から見つかったテープをテイラー・デュプリーが修復し、Carl Saff がマスタリングしました。2017 年のリリース。

1978 年から 1981 年にかけて、ROBERT CROTTY はコネチカット州ニューヘイブンにある LOREN CONNORS の玄関に、まるでおもちゃのような小さなギターを持って現れ、そして二人は何時間もアコースティック・ブルースを演奏しました。二人はスタンダード曲を独自にアレンジし、ゾクゾクするような即興演奏を通して、デルタ・ブルースやカウンティ・ブルースの魂との交歓を記録した未発表テープです。

LOREN CONNORS が型破りなギター・スタイルと唸り声のような歌声へと発展していく過程を垣間見ることができる、LOREN CONNORS 初期の入手可能な録音でもあります。

ROBERT CROTTY はニューヘイブンに生まれ育ち、この地域のブルースシーンの要として活躍していましたが、地元のバーやハウスパーティー以外ではあまり知られていませんでしたが、ようやくその才能に多くの人が気づいたようです。このアルバムには、未発表音源、未発表写真、ライナーノーツに加え、ボーナス CD として、1980年代後半に LOREN CONNORS のプライベートレーベルである St. Joan からリリースされた、ROBERT CROTTY の超レアな唯一の LP「Robert Crotty Blues」と７インチの音源が収録されています。
